Mack is a truck with two big rings coming down from the mirrors. They drag along the ground and kick up sparks. They start terrible fires and make kids cry.
The fire from the truck is burning a hole down to the subway. The birds see the hole and start attacking each other because they are now inspired to be violent like the humans. It’s on TV tonight. Turn on the news and watch the heavens open up as thousands of birds rise from their nests and fly off to war.
There was one bird that read philosophy. He was on his iPad one day, reading a philosopher try to come up with a good idea for why life is worth it. The bird got bored of the book. He tossed the iPad into a field and watched some native kids pick it up. They stared at their reflection in the black glass. Then they smiled and passed it around in a circle.
