Lego Land

  Jan 7, 2024

We woke up and went into Queenstown. We didn’t stay long. It was packed and busy. The scenery was really cool. There were lots of people parachuting down from the mountains.

We got back on the road. I soon realized I’d given my dad wrong directions to the gas station. I offered to pay for that tank. He happily accepted. It was $70!

The landscape became hot and dry. The huge mountains prevented rainclouds from offering their water. We saw many fruit and cherry farms. Dad said it reminded him of the Okanagan Valley.

At one point we noticed a strange sign. It said something about a Lego museum. We pulled over and Googled the place.

It had really good reviews. Apparently it housed a massive toy and transportation collection. We drove back and checked it out!

It was really cool. I saw tons of lego sets that I used to own. It was the first time I’d seen them since I was a kid.
They also had lots of the sets that I had really wanted.

The planes were really cool. We went inside a few of them. We noticed that the seats in older planes were so much better than today! There was much more leg room.

We arrived to our campsite for the night. The view overlooking the mountains was amazing.

We went for a quick walk. The trail was meant to end at a natural rock pool. The bridge over the river was closed, though. Lots of people were walking through the water instead. Dad was eager to do the same. I didn’t really want to get wet. The water was really high.

A bunch of loud drunks began heading to the rock pool. Dad changed his mind about crossing.

Marco missed his mom. He went to the window and began to gaze. He drifted into a dream.
Nothing appeared natural. The walls were covered in the drawings of a child. The floors were checkerboard, like a diner.
    “Who’s placed me here?”

A handsome pig entered the room. He wore a red tuxedo.
Marco was in awe. He ran over and started pounding that pig with his fists! He thought it was the right thing to do.
“STOP!” Screamed the swine. “I’m here for you! I’ve always loved you from afar!”
