Koala Cuddling

July 5, 2024

I’m here in Australia for two more days. Then I’m flying to Argentina. Dad has been living there for a while.

I’m a little nervous about my luggage. The ticket dad bought doesn’t include any checked baggage. I should’ve asked about that before he bought it.

The first airline I’m travelling with told me to sort it out at the airport on the day of my flight.

I’m pretty excited to be in Toronto for those couple of days. Carter invited me to a Blue Jay’s game with him and Will. That should be interesting.

I’m really excited to buy a joint and walk along the water. I’m going to listen to all the music I’ve made during my travels.

Today we  boarded a boat. It went up the Brisbane river. That was a really nice ride. We got to see all the fancy mansions.

We arrived at an animal sanctuary. They had lots of Koalas. They also had tons of Kangaroos that we could mingle with.

I gave a Kangaroo a back scratch. They were super tame and relaxed. I also saw a Tasmanian Devil. It looked like a massive rodent.

We weren’t allowed to touch the Koalas unfortunately. They changed that rule about two days before we arrived. Normally you were allowed to carry a Koala in your arms.

We boarded our boat and came back along the river. We docked amongst the beautiful buildings. We got back on the train and headed to Caloundra.

I’m glad we went. It was a short trip, but otherwise we would’ve spent most of our time in Caloundra. I find it pretty boring here.

It’s a really different vibe from when I was here at the start of my trip. I guess some things are similar.

The house isn’t super comfortable. There’s nothing soft to sit on. There’s only a dining table with two big benches.

They have a giant play pen for the baby. It takes up the entire living room.

The house is also really messy. There are things lying all over the place. It feels disorganized, like a bomb went off.

The front patio is like that as well. It’s full of random stuff. They moved the old dining table out there.

Yoga and Pablo are extremely hospitable though. They’re really fun and positive. It’s just the house itself that is a bit uncomfortable.

I really hope their Visa’s work out. I think Australia is a great country. It’s really unique. It might be my favourite English speaking country.

I still have to do a proper visit to the U.K. and U.S. I haven’t spent enough time in either. I really like certain aspects of Canada too, but I don’t know if I’ll spend my life here.

My dream is to have to have some sorta stability. My dream is to have a place that I feel totally comfortable and safe in. Somewhere that is quiet and that I can make music as loud as I want.

Somewhere that is close to an interesting community. Not in the middle of some car dependant suburb. And I don’t want to share a living space with roommates anymore. I want my own space.
