A Beaten Belly

 July 6, 2024

Today we all went to Noosa. I’d never been there before. It took us along time to find a parking spot. The place was really busy. Lots of surfers go there.

We had lunch at a picnic table. I heated my sandwich up on a grill.

Australia has grills in public parks all over the place. They’re free to use. You just push a button and they start to heat up. It’s really cool.

We walked along a trail. It took us along the side of the cliffs. We could see the surfers  below us.

Afterwards we went into the town. We had ice cream. Then we drove back home.

I’m glad I’m leaving Caloundra on a more positive note than last time.

My commander sent me into battle. I had only two guns. I pushed through rows of bodies. I emerged onto a field full of rabbits and deab bodies.

A helicopter circled over head. It reflected the sunlight like.a horrible disco ball. I ran for cover.

I dug a deep tunnel into the earth. I found myself in a dark place. I sat and meditated for three years.

I survived on ground-bears that I hunted with my hands. I drank water from a loud and roaring reservoir.

The path towards the rainbow was all yellow and beautiful.

“How long until we arrive to our treasure?” Asked Doris Day.

“It be five more hours, you hot bitch. Let me fuck you!” Demanded the Thin Man.

Doris laughed slapped the Thin Man’s ass. “Come follow me. Let’s go towards God. Let’s find out saviour.”

The two searchers wandered down the path. They passed through millions of blades of grass.

The sun was beginning to set behind the emerald city. The air was warm and buzzed with the sound of distant power saws.

“It’s a noisy area, no?” Said Doris Day.

“It’s construction season,” explained the Thin Man. “They don’t get a chance to work in the winter. There’s too much fucking snow. The whole city gets blanketed!”

“Ah I see. We don’t get snow where I’m from. We get hail and Horny Bull Frogs.”

“Do the Horny Bull Frogs try to fuck ya?” Whispered the Thin Man.

“Oh yes they do. They’re known to hurt the youth in a bay way. It’s hurtful!”

“I see you,” whispered the Thin Man, placing a damp hand on Doris’s shoulder. “I hear you and I respect you.”

The two searchers stared strongly into each other’s eyes.
