Chinese Fish

    Dreams

I’m walking through a city. I get to the Bay and Adelaide Centre. It looks different in the dream. I’m standing in the lobby. I’m hoping that somehow I’ll go up the elevator to see the view. Some latino man comes up to me and randomly gives me a pass. I think he believes I’m someone else. He realizes his mistake and takes the pass back.

I leave the lobby with him. I’m in another room with him. Ryan is also there. I’m telling them about why I was standing in the lobby. The latino man gives me some sushi.
I start to leave. I say ‘thanks for the sushi’. Ryan speaks for the first time and says “you mean ‘Chinese fish’. He’s implying that the sushi was low quality.

I leave the room and now I’m in a glass hallway. There’s a person in a duck costume walking towards me. It looks like a real duck, but huge. It scares me. It’s running at me. I have to move the beak otherwise it would’ve stabbed my face. It looks very sharp and pointy. Then I open the door for the ‘duck’.

Now I’m outside. I’m filming b-roll on my camera. I’m filming a little statue of two little boys. I remember thinking that mom will say they look like Liam and I when we were little.
Then I’m walking through a playground. I was wishing that I could just go up to people and film their faces.

I’m in Miami. I’m watching a boat chase in a canal. A guy is trying to escape police. He’s on a Ski-doo. He’s banging into other boats. He falls into the water. He starts climbing into a different boat.

I’m watching some sorta Jerry Seinfeld documentary. He's a big party guy. It shows him partying late on Friday night. The next morning he’s up early taping an interview with Letterman. He looks a bit tired and hung over.

Jerry and Elaine are walking along a river. It looks like the big concrete L.A. river, except it's in Miami. The current is very strong. It’s very shallow.
Jerry explains that all the water they’re seeing is coming from the soil around peoples houses. The ground is so wet that it often leaks into basements. People have to use pumps to suck the water from the dirt around their foundations. This is all the water they’re seeing.

Elaine is shocked. She says that the neighbourhood seemed so beautiful when she first arrived. She doesn’t like it as much now that she’s living there. She says that places can lose their charm once you’ve spent too much time there.
